1940’s Family Fun

Time for our biggie!
The one we’ve been raising funds for all last year by selling plants.
A family fun day that everyone can enjoy.
We’ve got stalls, things to do, things to watch.
Adding more as we go.
This year it’s linked in with Weymouth’s Armed Forces Weekend.
Why?
Because part of our heritage, and indeed why we succeeded with our Lottery grant, was because during WWII not only were British troops stationed and trained here, as the American troops arrived so they took over the park and its facilities on the build up to D Day.
In honour of that we’ll have a Weymouth in WWII display.

To honour that we’ll have a display covering Weymouth and its residents role in that time.
We have loads to keep families amused and entertained.
Smartie Pants the Clown will be enthralling the children with her antics.

The Victorian gentleman, think more steam punk than stiff upper lip, will get everyone going.

Then we have a whole section of giant outdoor games to try your hand at, connect four, noughts and crosses, and many more, including the ubiquitous skittle alley.
In the display ring with be Bob Rea with his Qigong demonstrations, Smarties Pants and her antics, Wacapella and the Live Wire choirs, Frome Valley Morris Dancers, the Victorian Gentleman will be performing, and Evolution Dance busting their moves…it’s all going on.
Stalls to browse, plants for sale, Tumbledown and their wooden makes.
Not forgetting to collect your Ration Books on the way in, points mean prizes.
So make sure you keep an eye on our FaceBook page to check progress.
