Weymouth Town Council has organised this year’s Weymouth Community Expo as a way of getting the message out there, who they are and what they do.
But this is not just about the council, this is also a great chance to come and see, talk to, loads of Weymouth’s community groups that strive in your area to improve matters and provide support for local folk. WTC work hard to support these numerous community groups, from meetings, to holding sessions on how best to help your community, find volunteers etc.
It really is the idea of us working together as a community, helping and supporting one another.
The Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens will be there with our stand.
I know, I know we’ve been banging on about it, the Lottery works, but they really are starting this year!
It’s been a right old roller coaster ride to get this far, with pandemics, economic crises, you name it, all we need to finish it off is a plague of frogs.
With works taking place in the playing field it’s also when plans will be laid out for our long-awaited sensory garden.
We’re still fund-raising whenever, wherever we can, with escalating prices we need to make sure we get value for money.
We’ll be able to tell you what’s happening and when, what to expect, how you can help, volunteer even, we’ll be needing plenty of willing hands.
This is not just a stuffy old, let us tell you, event, it’s an interactive event for all the family, there’ll be lots of things for children to do, prizes to be won.
So why not pop along to the Weymouth Community Expo and say hi, come see what’s going on in your home town.
There’s way more than you realise.
