What More Can We Say? Thank You For ALL Your Support

It's that time of year, Christmas done and dusted, visiting families returned from whence they came, beds stripped, washed and remade, cats enjoying last remnants of the turkey, me praying for a swift return to those lighter evenings, and our thoughts turn towards what was and what will be....

People enjoy a sunny day at a park with stalls, a large willow tree, and various leisure activities on a grassy area.

Radipole’s Big Fun Day; Surprises That Just Keep on Giving

With our biggest event done and dusted for this year, we now have time to catch our breaths and reflect before we start to think about next year. Each year our Big Fun Day has grown in size, as our chair Mike Goulden so aptly put it, we have created a monster! O.K so it might not be the biggest event on the planet, but coming from a committee of just five, how can I kindly put this? persons of a certain age, it takes a lot of time, energy and stamina as anyone who arranges events of any size will know. Thankfully we have a regular...

And the Band Played On; Weymouth Concert Brass Band

I can't believe we are already over half way through the year! Summer is finally upon us, delicious warmth on face, birds music-making in the trees and it's time to drag out and brush off those picnic baskets. What better way to spend a hot summer's day than lying in the dappled shade of our willows, liquid refreshment in hand, those scrummy fresh scones, cream and jam just beckoning you from our tea tent...

Hands Up for a Picnic in the Park; with a Spot of Wildlife and Wellbeing?

Hands Up for a Picnic in the Park We're just putting together the last few bits for this year's Wildlife event here in beautiful Radipole gardens. This is an event for everyone of all ages to enjoy, whether you love nature, being in the outdoors, having fun or taking part in a fitness sessions. It's all here....

People mingle at a lively outdoor event in a park adorned with British and American flags, true to the WWII style. Stalls, trees, and a sunny sky enhance the festive atmosphere.

Success; Radipole Gardens Goes All Out in True Patriotic WWII style.

Well, that's the final big event of our year done and dusted and boy did we go out with bloody big bang in true patriotic WWII style! Greeting the crowds coming to our event was this Big Beast shown below. This monster vehicle was parked out in the tennis club car park (sadly minus the even bigger tracked beast who would have been on her back had she not blown something to do with oil.)  She guzzled approx £100 in fuel for owner Colvyn Gillmon just to get here here from Dorchester! Though our 1940's Big Fun Day was a cracking success, of course that only happens...

Fascinating; Discover Radipole Park & Gardens links to WWI and WWII

Discover Radipole Park & Gardens links to WWI and WWII In a couple of weeks time we will be hosting our annual Big Fun Day, only this year is a very special one. Last winter we received the exciting news that we had got though stage I of or £1,4000,000 Parks for People Heritage Lottery Bid. That's no mean feat either. It has taken our Chair, Mike Goulden literally thousands of hours of work to put together our submission, working alongside members of W&P borough council. It ended in a humungous volume of facts, figures, history of, social history, ecological study...
