Finally!…Elated for Our Grand Celebration Event; August Radipole Park 2024

Grand Celebration Event August 2024     What can we say. Throughout this project weather, or rather bad weather, has played a major role Site flooded, or mud swamped at times. Unable to start sensory garden due to water sitting in excavated and waiting beds. First celebration event cancelled due to high winds and torrential rain. Final Lottery site visit undertaken in horrendous rain. Well here we are again, Celebratory event rearranged, order put in for good weather, we're ready to rock and roll. Saturday 10th August between 11am and 2pm you'll find us busy showing people around, pointing them in various directions of  activities, the usual speeches and ribbon cutting. Well, talk about being a roller coaster ride. The year 2022 was when it all should have been happening. Covid stopped us in our project tracks, we should have been celebrating the big Lottery award news, but so much has happened in those turbulent years between then and now! There's so much going on to tell you all about that I really don't know where to start, but I guess our next event might be a good place to begin. Though this year might be drawing its cosy curtains around the park and gardens, that doesn't stop us hardy bunch from putting on a last few proverbial acts. Ringing in the New; Radipole Gardens Events 2019

We would like to hope that all our followers enjoyed their festive holiday and will go on to have a very Happy and Healthy New. This will be a very busy and important year for the Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens group. 2019 will see us continue working on phase II of our Parks for People Heritage Lottery Bid to be submitted by the end of this year. Many hours of work goes on behind the scenes by both the Friends volunteers and members of local government on this project, from researching and customer surveys, to documenting figures and arranging walk-in consultations. The sun shone down on us last Saturday, though the wind was a bit parky to say the least. But that didn't stop families coming out to enjoy our latest event put on in the gardens. Well, it's that time of year again! Autumn is tugging at summer's sleeve, begging her to relinquish her grip on time. Worry not though we have a couple of events left in our calender. What would October be without a mention of all things Halloween. We've got that sorted. Saturday 27th October come along to Radipole gardens for our HALLOWEEN HOOLIE  and CIDER APPLE PRESSING. The first 20 children to arrive will find a pumpkin waiting for its makeover. Lots of bits and bobs to make your own Halloween decorations...
