2020; Lottery Bid Presentation & The Year We Realise the Importance of Green Spaces

Hands up, I'll admit to having deserted my scribings on our website over the last few months. It's been a hard one to focus on, hence most of our postings have been on our Facebook page. The year 2020 has been one hell of a ride so far. We are all living through something previously unimaginable, life changing, that'll go down in world history much the same as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. As far as our Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens committee are concerned it has been a bit of an unknown. Watching and waiting for news of lockdown/slow release/ things permitted/possibility of...

Revealed;- Some Hidden Gems; Radipole Park and Gardens

Watching bats sweeping to and fro in these gardens are one of my treasured childhood memories, though what they were probably feeding on, not such good memories! Playing tennis in the evenings usually meant you spent more time swiping away those mozzies who seemed determined to devour you....

Plants Galore Sausage Rolls and Sensory Gardens

Nope, I'm not having one of my dizzy moments. i'm hoping some of you good folk will come along and help us for a variety of reasons. This coming Saturday 18th May is our annual plants sale in the Radipole United Church hall on Spa Road 10-12. The first good reason to help is that it will be a day when my hubster jumps for joy...

Potent Poisons and Perfection; The Radipole Friends off to Devon on their Annual Jolly.

The day of our annual Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens coach trip started with wall to wall sunshine. An excited group waited patiently for our coach to arrive, we were off to sunny Devon to visit two very different gardens. Once all were counted safely aboard off we set, our friendly coach driver, Alan introduced himself and did the usual safety talk that now seems obligatory on any means of transport. Time for just a quick comfort stop at Exeter services, chance of a cuppa and dash to the loos before  heading back to the coach and onwards to our first destination, Torre Abbey Gardens. Here we...
