Plant Sale 2022. Excited; A New Year and it’s Time To Sow.

Well the year has begun very kindly to us weather wise, so not sure if making a start on sowing in the greenhouse is wise or tempting fate! The cuttings taken in autumn are already sprouting some healthy looking roots. Each year we have a plant sale to raise funds for the gardens, but the last couple of years have been difficult as Covid scuppered most of our events, resulting in  having to sell plants from our drive. Seemingly I'm now known as plant lady!...

2020; Lottery Bid Presentation & The Year We Realise the Importance of Green Spaces

Hands up, I'll admit to having deserted my scribings on our website over the last few months. It's been a hard one to focus on, hence most of our postings have been on our Facebook page. The year 2020 has been one hell of a ride so far. We are all living through something previously unimaginable, life changing, that'll go down in world history much the same as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. As far as our Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens committee are concerned it has been a bit of an unknown. Watching and waiting for news of lockdown/slow release/ things permitted/possibility of...

What More Can We Say? Thank You For ALL Your Support

It's that time of year, Christmas done and dusted, visiting families returned from whence they came, beds stripped, washed and remade, cats enjoying last remnants of the turkey, me praying for a swift return to those lighter evenings, and our thoughts turn towards what was and what will be....

Revealed;- Some Hidden Gems; Radipole Park and Gardens

Watching bats sweeping to and fro in these gardens are one of my treasured childhood memories, though what they were probably feeding on, not such good memories! Playing tennis in the evenings usually meant you spent more time swiping away those mozzies who seemed determined to devour you....

Helping Hands are Always Welcome; Asda’s Green Tokens.

We've just crossed another wonderful event off our list. Last Sunday's Band in the Park was well attended, despite not only fierce competition from other large events in the area but also numerous, not to be missed, sporting finals on tv! But as ever, we can't rest on our laurels, it's onwards and upwards with our fund raising for the Sensory garden, even more important as it's only a couple of months away before the ground works start! Events held in our gardens aren't the only way we raise money, we also look to any grants available and various schemes whereby we can add to our coffers. Over...

Wow Wow Wow and Wow Again…10,000 Hits and Growing Fast

What can we say but a huge thank you to all our followers. We've literally just passed our goal of 10,000 hits! Make sure you follow us to see what's happening in our wonderful park and gardens. This year is going to be a real goodie. Lots going on. We'll be submitting stage II of our Parks for People Heritage Lottery bid and it'll be fingers, toes and everything crossed then that we succeed, it certainly won't be through lack of effort or trying! We'll be making a start on the Sensory Garden working in conjunction with tutors and students of Kingston Maurward. This will be a real...
