Flour Eggs & Any Old Rubbish; Recipe for Radipole’s Big Fun Day

Things are hotting up for our Big Fun Day (Saturday 24th august 12-4)…we’re getting you into the competitive spirit this year.

We love that you all come along to take part in our events… and this time you can REALLY take part!

Our committee members have decided to run two competitions, open to one and all.

Competition no 1;

The Great Radipole BakeScoff

BakeScoff

Here you go folks, the chance to prove that you have baking skills to top all baking skills.

Just enter a cake or tray of smaller cakes, biscuits into our competition and come cake champion extraordinaire selection time, the lucky judge will munch their way through the assembled scrumptious offerings (not too big a sample we hope) and decide who has come up Trumps (maybe that should now be Boris?)

The winner will receive the much coveted Radipole Gardens Slice.

To top that…everyone’s a winner as the remainder of the cakes (what’s not been eaten by said judge)  will be offered up on our cake stall and provide much needed funds towards our sensory garden.

Rules; not too many

Please bring goodies along to the cake stall by 1 o’clock to be laid out for display and audience appreciation (with a label attached underneath containing you name and contact details please); judging will take place soon after and the lucky winner presented with their prize approx 2.30. (depending on how many cakes said judge has to chomp their way through.)

Competition no 2;

Children’s Re-cycled Art Competition

Art competition

As part of our ethos to become more eco and wildlife friendly, this year we are running an art competition with a difference.

Great selection of prizes to be won. (Trixie not included, she just never misses any opportunity to pose!)

Art prizes

We want you to bring along a piece of work attached to a (not larger than) A4 piece of paper or card to be hung in our dedicated Art Gallery tent.

It has to be created with recycled objects from your home or the outdoors.

Have fun with it, let your imagination fly.

Please remember to add your name, age and address on the back.

All artwork will be on display in the Art Gallery tent for the whole event and may even feature on our website.

Rules;

We are dividing it into three categories

a) 6 and under

b) 7-11

c) 12-16

No bigger than A4 in size please.

Name, age and contact details to be added on the back.

Judging will take place at 3.30.

But it doesn’t stop there, well renown artist Darrel Wakelam will be busy creating models in the Art Gallery and will need some hands on input from the younger generation.

Looking forwards to seeing the results. P.S. just don’t get your ingredients for the two competition entries mixed up.
