2020; Lottery Bid Presentation & The Year We Realise the Importance of Green Spaces

Hands up, I'll admit to having deserted my scribings on our website over the last few months. It's been a hard one to focus on, hence most of our postings have been on our Facebook page. The year 2020 has been one hell of a ride so far. We are all living through something previously unimaginable, life changing, that'll go down in world history much the same as the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. As far as our Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens committee are concerned it has been a bit of an unknown. Watching and waiting for news of lockdown/slow release/ things permitted/possibility of...

What More Can We Say? Thank You For ALL Your Support

It's that time of year, Christmas done and dusted, visiting families returned from whence they came, beds stripped, washed and remade, cats enjoying last remnants of the turkey, me praying for a swift return to those lighter evenings, and our thoughts turn towards what was and what will be....

Revealed;- Some Hidden Gems; Radipole Park and Gardens

Make sure you arrive early as there's free pumpkins to be had for all you early birds out there. (Pumpkin carving...

Radipole’s Big Fun Day; Surprises That Just Keep on Giving

With our biggest event done and dusted for this year, we now have time to catch our breaths and reflect before we start to think about next year. Each year our Big Fun Day has grown in size, as our chair Mike Goulden so aptly put it, we have created a monster! O.K so it might not be the biggest event on the planet, but coming from a committee of just five, how can I kindly put this? persons of a certain age, it takes a lot of time, energy and stamina as anyone who arranges events of any size will know. Thankfully we have a regular...

Weymouth & Portland Pride by the Seaside; Radipole Park

Our green spaces should be safe for everyone to visit, relax and enjoy the outdoors, a place where no one should feel excluded, isolated, intimidated or threatened by others. That is the case this coming weekend, everyone's welcomed to what will be a kaleidoscope of colour, people, stalls, lively entertainment and a stage packed with performances, and it's all happening in Weymouth's Radipole park. Weymouth & Portland's first annual Pride event Pride by the Seaside. It's a time when we can all come together and 'celebrate equality and diversity in our community.' Great to see so many Weymouth businesses behind this event...
