March 2025 Radipole Sensory Garden Exciting Updates
Radipole Sensory Garden Updates
It’s been quite a while since we’ve posted any updates I know.
But lots still going on behind the scenes.
We’ve had our obligatory AGM, which this year were held down in the garden, next to Mumma Bee’s Cafe.
Now, if you’ve ever had anything to do with committee’s, you’ll know sometimes it can be hard to get folk to attend these, hence the change of venue.
Did it work?
Well, yes, we certainly had more attendees than usual, and even some new faces.
We followed that with a Community Meeting, a shout out to our local community, to see who wanted to be involved, especially in an event we’ve have in mind, but needed to know the support before we went ahead to plan it.
Would anyone turn up for this part?
They certainly did, 50 odd!
So many folk, they couldn’t all get into the gazebo. (Note to self, must use both doubles next year.)
Our local councillor Matt Bell gave a talk on the problem of flooding and what he was trying to do to relieve it
Mel, (who is now our Chair) and Jess (who has come on board our committee as events organiser) gave a talk on what plans we had for the future, especially running events in this space.
They had great success in getting people to sign up as volunteers.
We’ve applied for a grant to hold some creative session in the garden/cafe area, and we’ve ideas for so much more too.
Including a good old fashioned community fete in June…with a 1940’s theme to fit in with the V.E. Day anniversary.
It’s a case of watch this space.
Oh, and if you haven’t been recently to the sensory garden, pop along now on a sunny day as the hyacinths smell delectable.
