Parks For All; Getting Out & Getting Fit; Walking Football
We have our annual Wildlife & Wellbeing event this coming Saturday, 4th May in Radipole Gardens.
This year we are combining forces with Picnic in the Park which is all about getting people in the outdoors and doing. A message we’re keen to get across, how immersing yourself in nature and enjoying the great outdoors has all manner of benefits, both physical and mental, for everyone.
At this year’s event you’ll not only be able to chat to those who care for our wildlife and wonderful nature, you’ll also come across plenty of ideas of activities you can do outside that could massively improve your wellbeing.
We are running free taster sessions of activities from pilates to Di Tilsley and her orienteering maze.
One group coming along will be Ed August from Weymouth’s Walking Football Team, he’s here to prove that age carries no restriction on enjoying that certain comeraderie that comes with team sports.
So if you fancy getting out and about, socialising with like minded folk, whilst improving your fitness, no matter what level, why not come along and have a word with Ed.
You never know, he might even let you try and score a goal!
Lots of activities for all ages and abilities to try. This is a family and dementia friendly event. All very welcome.

Of course, should we succeed with our lottery bid then these are the sort of activities we could be offering our park goers in the future, just think what we could do to improve those old tennis courts.
