Will you Play a Role in Creating our Sensory Garden?

I know we’ve been banging on about this over the last couple of years, but…things are coming together fast now!

We have already raised a staggering £14,000 of our £20,000 total, so this year is all about that big push for the last £6,000.

We have also set up a Just Giving Page so you can help without having to leave the comfort of your armchair.

Excitedly, we will be working alongside Michelle Brown, garden design lecturer at Kingston Maurward college. Designing and creating our sensory garden will become part of their on-going course. At present they are busy working on a garden for this years Chelsea Flower show.

What is a sensory garden?

It is exactly what it says on the tin, a green space where appreciation can be garnered in so many ways.

Sound, smell, touch, hearing among others.

Our aim is for an enclosed safe space where everyone of all abilities and mobility will be able to sit and enjoy its encompassing walls of foliage and textures.

A series of raised beds that will be planted and tended by a variety of groups, some of the beds we hope to make wheelchair friendly.

Enabling people to get out and enjoy working in nature, proven to be beneficial to both mind and body.

We are big fans of nature and wildlife so will be making as many areas in this space to help wildlife flourish.

You too can help us create this garden, either by being hands on when the project gets started, donating a pound or two (at the Just Giving link above) or by coming along to support us at one of our events.

Wouldn’t that make you feel proud, to be able to say every time you walk past it or indeed relax inside it, that you played a role in its creation.

Have sent a small donation through just Giving, sorry it’s not much but might be able to donate some more next month. 🙂
