The Quirky Bits…Fallen trees Find a New Life.

It’s funny how sometimes something sad turns into something that becomes much loved and appreciated.

So it was with one of the grand old trees in the gardens.

Having reached the end of her life, there was nothing for it, she had to be felled.

But being of a fair size (and costly to move), it was decided to leave her just where she landed.

Now she wears a…one could almost say…devilish look on her face.

But she really is good natured and loved by all the children.

Even the garden’s teddies on their annual picnic rest their weary limbs on her smooth surface after they’ve finished eating all their cream buns and playing games.

So popular she has become in the gardens that local photographer and Zzipp Media guru Peter Lythgoe included this grand dame in his Etsy collection of local prints.

Next time you’re walking through the gardens, come and say hi to her.

She won’t bite you…
