Thrilled…Teddies Turn up in Torrents. Flaming June 2025
Teddies Turn up in Torrents
Right up to the start of the Teddy Bear Picnic and Pop Up Plant Sale event, black clouds hung menacingly low.
A few large drops of rain sent us running for gazebos and large umbrellas.
Was this going to be a wash out?
But right on queue, 1 o’clock, the skies cleared, the heat ramped up, people started arriving with all manner of bears and stuffed fluffy friends, along with chairs, rugs and sun shades.
Before we knew it the play park and field beyond was filled with families picnicking, playing football, cricket and all manner of games.
The Quangle Wangle Choir and Wacapella singers arrived, complete with their own childhood teddies, to set up for their performance.
Much appreciated by everyone.
Meanwhile Mel and I were busy serving eager plant buyers, whist trying stay in the shade, by now temperature were rising fast.
All monies raised at our Pop Up Plant Sales will go towards a big Summer Fun event next year for the community.
The other stalls including Love Dogs West Dorset with their display of rubbish found discarded on the beach, but collected by conscientious dog owners, were kept busy all afternoon talking to people about responsible dog ownership.
And Mumma Bee’s iced and flavoured topped with fresh fruit Lemonade stand did roaring trade, perfect to cool one down.
All in all a ‘perfick’ summer’s afternoon
