Fantastic FREE Create in Nature Sessions Summer 2025
FREE Create in Nature Sessions
Well, we’re part way through our FREE Create in Nature Sessions, and what a great success they’ve turned out to be.
Funded by Weymouth Town Council as part of the Town of Culture events.
Starting off with pottery, creating pinch pots, hands in clay, all manner of pots and dishes were produced under the watchful eye of Weymouth’s creative studio, Space Lab.
A warm summer’s evening sat on the deck, music in the background and Pimm’s at the ready.
Perfect.
That was followed by Jazz from The Slow Lanes demonstrating how to make beautiful fabric roses from up cycled materials.
A brief discussion on how much clothing ends up in landfill, and what we can do to help matters, followed by a of flurry of hand picking out the sumptuous fabrics on offer, and beads as adornments.
The perfect way to sit and stitch whilst chattering away.
You won’t believe some of the subjects discussed by a group industrious women!
Then came Walk & Write in Nature by Aureate’s Evel Burdette.
A slow stroll through the park and gardens, stopping in various places, pens poised ready for a prompt.
Taking inspiration from the green world around us.
And we’ve just had our first Drawing with Charcoal session with artist Ian Cox.
Starting off with an introductions of materials and methods used, people wandered off to find somewhere to start creating.
What was lovely to see was a mix of ages and abilities wanting to try out charcoal sketches.
From young children to trained architects.
Quite a few are already signing up for the second session on the 27th August.
