You Win..We Win; Your Views Matter

A busy old time for posting on here, but that’s because there is so much going on behind the scenes with our big Heritage Lottery Bid.

We are building up to our final submission and I promise that we’ll post news on here soon to keep you all updated with what’s happening…which at the moment is like that classic movie…fast and furious.

Part of that process has been to ask you, the local community, what you’d like to see the park’s future as being. We’ve done numerous ongoing consultations at events, local schools, nursery groups, nursing homes, attending lots of meetings, arranged pop ins etc and now we’re taking it online to reach an even wider audience.

We want to know that ins and outs of if you use the park and gardens, if not, what stops you, what would make you use them more, how can we improve them.

You get the gist.

It’ll only take a few moments of your time but could have massive impact on the future of our beautiful park and gardens.

We need your help!

As you may be aware Weymouth Town Council, with the support of the Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens, have secured initial lottery funding to draw up plans to improve Radipole Park and Gardens.

The plans, so far, include a new café, toilets, a sensory garden, new play equipment, water play area, wildlife area, upgraded sports areas, new car park surfacing and pathway network.

The main aims of this project are to

· reconnect local people with their park, giving people a sense of pride and ownership over the gardens

· improve park facilities, making it a central focus for the community

· build a heritage café and toilets to encourage people to use the park and to stay longer

· offer a wider variety of events and activities in the park

· encourage voluntary groups and schools to make more use of the park

· develop opportunities to learn about the history and heritage of the park

Our current plans are based on feedback from the local community but we want to make sure we get it right, so please let us know what you think would make the park an even more enjoyable place to visit. The following short survey will only take about 8 mins to complete and we’d love to hear from you.

Once you have completed the questionnaire, you will have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Love2shop gift voucher!
You’ll see this survey all over for a while as we try to gather in as many opinions as possible.
Feel free to share it far and wide.
After all these green spaces are vital to us all and we need to make sure we get it right.
